Elder Marion Rollerson

Elder Marion George Rollerson, a native of Charleston, South Carolina, is the son of the late Mr. Jake Rollerson and the late Mrs. Josephine Marion Rollerson. He is married to Mrs. Alicia Blackshear Rollerson, and they are the proud parents of seven marvelous children, fifteen wonderful grandchildren, and two fantastic great-grandchildren.

 

Educated in the public schools of Charleston, he attended South Carolina State College and Orlando College. He holds a B.S. Degree in Management. He further studied at the International Seminary, Plymouth, Florida. He completed The Bishop’s Course of Studies of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. He later received a Certificate of Theology from The Extension Education Program offered by The Interdenominational Theological Center Phillips School of Theology, Atlanta, Georgia while at Mount Olive C.M.E. Church in Orlando, Florida.

 

He retired from the United States Government on February 4, 1994 with more than 37 years of service. He served in the United States Air Force from January 1955 to November 1958. His civilian career began in May 1963 in New Jersey.

 

In September 1965, he relocated to Orlando, Florida as part of the first group of Naval Training Center employees to transition to the base in Orlando. He has the distinction of being the last of that inaugural group to retire.

 

Rev. Rollerson’s Christian walk began at an early age. Upon relocating to Orlando, he joined The Mount Olive C.M.E. Church where he served as The Recording Steward, Steward, Sunday School Teacher, President of The Choir, Class Leader, and Boy Scout Master, dedicated and committed to each task diligently with a servant’s heart. He was ordained a Deacon on July 14, 1989 and ordained an Elder on June 27, 1991.
