Rev. Dorothy Stephenson

Evangelism and Witness 

Rev. Dorothy Stephenson was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. She graduated from Jones High School Orlando Florida, and received a Certificate in Theology from Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta Georgia. She is the proud mother of DeAngelo Stephenson, Laquisha Stephenson and Keyante Scott.

 

Rev. Stephenson was saved and baptized at age 16 at Miracle Deliverance House of Prayer of Oakland, Florida under Pastor John Clark.   At age 23 she became an active member of Lighthouse Church of Orlando, Florida where she served for more than 16 years in many capacities as a Sunday School Superintendent, Youth Choir Director, Usher Board, Sunday School Teacher, Children’s Ministry, Kitchen Helper and Single Parent Ministry.

 

Rev. Stephenson became a member of Carter Tabernacle CME Church in 2008 where she answered her call to ministry and was licensed to preach in 2009. In 2013, she was ordained as a Reverend.  At Carter, Rev. Stephenson has worked with the Children’s Ministry, Single Parent Ministry and Walk of Love Ministry as well as served as a Sunday School Teacher.

 

She serves as a mentor to the many youth at Carter and abroad, where many refer to her as Auntie Dot. She is passionate about the children and youth of today for they are our church of tomorrow.

 

Rev. Stephenson currently leads the Liturgical & Worship Ministry at St. Paul CME, Gainesville, FL as well as the Evangelism & Witness Ministry at Carter.

 

One of Rev. Stephenson’s favorite bible verses is Philippians 4:13 (KJV) - I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
